During one month a year at the time of Easter, we can find “torrijas” (sweet fried toast, similar to a bread pudding or a french toast) and special pastries all over Spain. I’ve tried many “torrijas” in Marbella, in bakeries and cafes, so I can recommend you:
Pasteleria Goyo
Classics never die, milk with sugar and cinnamon, I just love them. They offer a version with sugar and another with honey for sweet tooth, both with very smooth texture and a delicious sweet cinnamon flavored milk. Juicy but not oily at all. I could eat dozens of them.

Moreover the fried toast (torrijas), in Goyo you can find a great assortment of candies and Easter treats, pestiños, leche frita, hornazo, mona de pascua, easter eggs ….
Pestiños de miel Goyo – Honey pestiños
Filled Torrijas in Cafetería Troyano
They are made with milk and sugar or honey, both are filled with some custard, sparingly and is not heavy . Personally, I am not a filler lover but in this case, and after trying many in Marbella, I must say that the Troyano toasts (torrijas) have a very, very, nice flavor.
