BIBO Marbella by Dani Garcia
Dani Garcia is from Marbella and he is a genius. I am not saying anything new, we all know it, there are two Michelin stars to prove it and he is a proud Marbellero, being one of the best Marbella Ambassadors all around the world .
He has created the BIBO concept, a brasserie “elegant but casual”, a “cool ” place, where you can eat tapas, salads, burgers or Gillardeau oysters.
You’ll eat tapas, but won´t have to fight to get the bar counter. You’re sitting in a kindly served table choosing from a trendy and diverse menu that keeps the essence of Andalusian traditional cuisine.
From March 1st (2016) there is a new BIBO menu which includes a so unique croquettes, that when you see such an art creation, you do not know what to do, take a picture or eat them.
I have to thank Dani Garcia to keep on menu the tempura shrimp salad , OMG I like so much those little pieces of fried shrimp, crispy and so good, try it and let me know what you think about it!
What can i say about the russian salad, there was russian salad in the previous menu but now you can add toppings: crab mayo, fried quail eggs with crispy garlic or caramelized piquillo peppers with tuna, without trying all of them, i’ll take the red peppers and tuna belly . (Tuna fascinates me)
If you fancy raw fish, the Seabass flower seasoned with yuzu, ginger and soy is very nice.
The presentation of the food at the table is very important in BIBO, this menu is new from this week (March 2016) and i still haven´t try or see how are all the presentation of the new dishes, but until last week , when they brought the grilled octopus to the table it was a great experience to uncover the dish, – not in the menu anymore … R.I.P. Octopus –
Have the opportunity to try Dani Garcia creations for 40 euros on average per person, well worth it.
PS: When I say it’s a “cool place” I mean you will have a nice meal and “dress code: smart-casual, cause you will spot beautiful people” smart but relaxed, that’s the great thing about BIBO you do not have to wear red soles to have a great dinner, unless you want to end the night across the square and having drinks at La Suite.
Looking for the democratization of the haute cuisine, Dani Garcia created BIBO and even burgers for Mc Donald´s, that how he has said many times, thousands of people have already tried. Check this video (in Spanish, sorry)
